KEYS - ROCKSCHOOL CURRICULUM

GRADE 1

  • At this level, you should be able to play simple pieces with basic techniques and a good understanding of foundational musical concepts.

GRADE 2

  • Progressing from Grade 1, you'll be expected to demonstrate improved technical skills, rhythm, and musical expression.

GRADE 3

  • By this stage, you should have a solid grasp of more advanced techniques, including scales, arpeggios, and sight-reading, and be able to perform more complex pieces.

GRADE 4

  • Your musical abilities should continue to advance, and you'll be expected to show proficiency in various musical styles and genres.

GRADE 5

  • At this point, you should have a strong foundation in piano playing, with the ability to tackle challenging pieces and demonstrate musical interpretation.

GRADE 6

  • Your skills will become more refined, and you'll be able to perform more demanding repertoire with a high degree of precision.

GRADE 7

  • This grade typically involves advanced techniques, complex musical interpretations, and a deep understanding of music theory.

GRADE 8

  • The highest grade in the RSL Piano exams, you should be able to perform at a professional level, showcasing advanced techniques, musicality, and a deep understanding of music.
